Tesco shoppers have been warned of major changes to Clubcard points that are set to take place within the next few weeks.
Clubcard members can currently triple the amount their points are worth when they spend at one of the grocer's 100+ rewards partners, such as Pizza Express, Disney+, Hotels.com and much more.
However, the UK's largest supermarket chain has confirmed that it will be slashing the amount your points are worth soon. From June 14, Clubcard vouchers will only be worth double their value, reports BirminghamLive.
Drivers will also be impacted by the changes from June 14. They can currently get one point for every £2 of fuel they buy, but this will change to one point for every two litres instead.
It is just one of the latest changes that the supermarket has made to its Clubcard loyalty scheme as of late. The Clubcard app was recently closed, with shoppers having to download the new Tesco Grocery and Clubcard app to continue earning points.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: "We’re making this change to the scheme to make sure we can continue to provide a wide range of rewards that meet the needs of all our Tesco Clubcard members, while keeping prices low for everyone. Tesco Clubcard continues to have the biggest and most generous Reward Partner scheme with access to over 100 Partners at 2x your Clubcard voucher value.
"To give you extra time to decide when to use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers with Partners, we’re extending the validity period on Tesco Clubcard Reward Partner codes ordered until 13 June, so that they’re valid for 12 months, rather than the usual 6 months. So don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to use them at their current value before we make the change.
"If you already have a Tesco Clubcard Reward Partner code, you can still use it at up to 3x the value until its expiry date. The expiry date can be found in your order email or in the My rewards section in the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app.
"Doubling the value of Tesco Clubcard vouchers with our Tesco Clubcard Reward Partners is a convenient way to make your money go further on things like family fun, dining out, at-home entertainment, cinema trips and holidays."
