Tesco shoppers have been praising the retailer and their 'white envelope' scheme which has now been placed in every single one of their UK stores - including in Glasgow and other areas of Scotland.
The supermarket giant is urging shoppers to ask for 'a white envelope' should they need to amid the ongoing cost of living crisis. The scheme provides sanitary products to those in need.
According to a 2022 Action Aid survey, around one in eight women (12 per cent) in the UK struggle with period poverty. And almost a year later, this number is expected to rise due to the cost of living crisis, reports MEN.

The reminder comes as shoppers have spotted signs placed in supermarket toilets with the signs reading: "To combat period poverty, Tesco want to ensure everyone has access to sanitary products.
"If you are in need, please go to the customer service desk and ask for a white envelope. No questions will be asked."
On Twitter, one user questioned whether or not the scheme is legitimate asking: "Is this true about asking for a "White envelope" For Sanitary products?"
Tesco replied to the tweet, saying: "To answer your question, yes this is correct, all a customer needs to do is to ask at our customer services and there will be no questions asked, it's in a effort to tackle period poverty as they are given free of charge. TY."
Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, another shopper shared a picture of one of the signs in her local Tesco supermarket writing: "Not necessarily a bargain, because period products should be free anyway But I saw this on the back of the toilet door in Tesco."
In response, people loved the idea which will help those who are unable to stretch their budget with shopping essentials already on the rise.
One pointed out: "Morrisons do it too you ask for a package for Sandy."
Another shopper praised the supermarket adding: "Well done Tesco" whilst a third said: "That’s bloody brilliant."
"As long as all staff are aware of this then I can not see a problem, I would rather ask for a white envelope than come through my clothes" said a fifth.
