Tesco has increased the price of its chicken once again, adding 10p onto a pack of two breast fillets. With the cost of living crisis impacting on families we've been keeping a close eye on prices, monitoring the same eight items at the six major supermarkets since March.
During that time we've seen prices fluctuate and this week they have settled somewhat, with only Tesco making the one rise. It has increased the cost of a pack of two chicken breasts from £2.30 to £2.40.
Aldi and Lidl remain the cheapest for the meat, with Aldi at £2.15 and Lidl having put its price up just last week from £2.15 to £2.29.

The Tesco rise has put it on a par with Asda, where a bigger 350g pack costs £2.80, which equates to £2.40. Sainsbury's is the most expensive at £2.50 a pack, while Morrisons is only slightly behind at £2.49.
Last week it was Asda that came under fire for hiking the price of another meat. The increase in its Just Essential mince, from £1.79 to £1.99, made it the most expensive for that product than all the other supermarkets.
When the new range first launched, a rebrand of Smart Price, the 500g packs of mince were the cheapest around, at £1.69.
Despite this week's Tesco rise, it remains third cheapest for the full shopping basket, which comes in at £11.08 for an 800g loaf, two pints of milk, 200g of coffee, 160 teabags, a 250g block of butter, a tin of beans, 300g of chicken and 500g of mince.
Lidl has retained its top spot as the cheapest at £10.51, followed by Aldi at £10.81. Sainsbury's is just pennies apart from Tesco at £11.15, followed by Asda at £11.18, and Morrisons, still the most expensive, at £11.50.
