Tesco, M&S, Morrisons and Iceland issue do not eat warnings as like of curry and pasta sauce

Popular products including curry, porridge and pasta sauce are among items to have been urgently recalled by major supermarkets. Morrisons, Tesco and M&S are affected by a latest alert from the Food Standards Agency.

The alert means that anyone who has recently bought any of the items listed are advised not to eat them. Customers should instead return the items to the store to be refunded.

Some products may contain potential allergy ingredients like milk, crustaceans, molluscs, peanuts and egg which are not listed on the label. Check your fridges, freezers and cupboards as soon as possible to see if you have any of them affected goods.

IKEA

A popular IKEA mirror sold in stores across the UK has also been urgently recalled over injury fears. A safety recall notice for IKEA LETTAN mirrors with particular date stamps has been issued by the government's Office for Product Safety and Standards.

The mirrors, that are made in China, present a risk of injuries due to the potential for the wall fitting to break and the mirror to fall. It affects the products sold in four sizes sold from February 2020.

The government's recall notice reports that "the product presents a risk of injuries as the wall fittings for the mirror may break, causing the mirror to fall". It adds that "the product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005".

The company's website reads: "IKEA asks customers who have purchased a LETTAN mirror with date stamps before and including 2105 (yyww), to stop using it and contact IKEA to order wall fittings free of charge. IKEA has received reports of the mirrors falling due to the wall fittings breaking, therefore posing the risk of injury.

"As such, we are issuing a recall for repair for the affected date stamps. Customers are kindly asked to carefully check the stamp dates on the back of their LETTAN mirrors following the instructions below and order wall fittings free of charge if affected.

"Customers can also contact IKEA on 0203 645 0010. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

The items affected are:

  • 604.352.69 LETTAN mirror 100x96cm
  • 004.353.14 LETTAN mirror 40x96cm
  • 804.353.05 LETTAN mirror 60x96cm
  • 804.353.10 LETTAN mirror 80x96cm

Iceland

Iceland Foods is continuing to recall Mars Dessert Bar because it may contain peanuts and egg, which are not mentioned on the label. As a result of a packaging error, some packs have been incorrectly packed with Snickers Dessert Bar.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or an allergy or intolerance to egg.

The product details are:

Mars Dessert Bar

Pack size: 600g

Best before: 23 February 2024

The FSA said: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts and/or an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store (for a refund)."
