Tesco has issued an urgent recall for a bottle of popular supplement tablets as they have been found to contain an illegal level of one of the chemical ingredients.
The supermarket giant has warned shoppers who have purchased the Tesco Healthy Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240 capsules to not take them over raised levels of glycidol.
The tablets have been found to contain levels of the chemical ingredient that are said to be above the legal limit for each capsule, reports The Liverpool Echo.
Batches affected by the recall will have the best before dates up to and including April 2025. Customers who have purchased any of the affected batches have been told not to panic as the raised levels should not affect their health.
Product batches affected
- Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240 capsules

Tesco said in a statement: "We're recalling certain date codes of Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240 capsules, as they contain raised levels of glycidol, which are above the permitted legal limit. This shouldn't affect your health, if you've been following the dosage advice.
"However, if you've used the product very recently and feel unwell, we recommend you consult your GP."
If you've bought an affected product, please don't use it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund. No receipt is required.
