Tesco issues four week warning as millions of Clubcard vouchers set to expire

Tesco Clubcard members have been issued an urgent warning that they have just weeks to cash in on millions of pounds worth of vouchers.

The UK's largest supermarket's loyalty scheme issues shoppers with points everytime that they shop in-stores and online, with a minimum of 150 points needed to claim a £1.50 voucher.

Now, as reported by The Manchester Evening News, over two million customers have been reminded to spend more than £16million worth of Clubcard vouchers before their expiry date this February.

The vouchers, which were first issued in February 2021, are due to officially expire on Tuesday, February 28 - meaning shoppers have just four weeks to cash them in.

Clubcard vouchers are issued every three months during in the year, February, May, August and November, and they expire two years from the date they were issued on.

Tesco's Clubcard scheme is hugely popular with households across the UK, with the supermarket claiming that more than 20million members are signed up.

Customers can use their vouchers to get money off their groceries, fuel, or to treat themselves at a range of more than 100 rewards partners including PizzaExpress Fitbit and Spa Seekers.

However, as shoppers build up their points, they can sometimes forget when they are about to expire to make way for new vouchers to be rolled out. Which is why the supermarket has sent out a reminder to its customers.

Tesco Loyalty Director, Tash Whitmey, said: "We want to help customers’ household budgets stretch further right now and Clubcard is the best way to get great value with Tesco – from Clubcard Rewards to thousands of exclusive deals through Clubcard Prices.

"With more than £16m worth of Clubcard vouchers due to expire at the end of February, we’re reminding customers to spend them in what can be a tough time of year, as family budgets feel the new year strain."
