Tesco Ireland has recalled a line of its own-brand fish oil tablets after it was discovered they contain high levels of a certain ingredient.
An urgent recall notice was issued on certain batches of the Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil capsules as they had raised levels of glycidol which were "above the permitted legal limit".
The supermarket advised shoppers who bought the supplements to stop taking them immediately and instead return the product to a Tesco store where they will be given a refund - with no receipt necessary.

Tesco reassured shoppers who may have taken the tablets that it shouldn't affect their health if they have followed the dosage advice.
However, if anyone who has taken the tablets has been feeling unwell recently they should visit their GP.
The affected batches are the Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240g capsules, which have a best-before date of all dates up to and including April 2025.
The recall notice published by Tesco last week read: "We’re recalling certain date codes of Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240 capsules, as they contain raised levels of glycidol, which are above the permitted legal limit.
"This shouldn’t affect your health, if you’ve been following the dosage advice. However, if you’ve used the product very recently and feel unwell, we recommend you consult your GP."
It continued: "If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund. No receipt is required."
