Aero hot chocolate products have been pulled from supermarket shelves due to the possible presence of silica beads.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued an urgent recall notice for the products on Monday. The popular hot chocolate drink was for sale in a number of shops across Ireland, including Dunnes Stores, SuperValu and Tesco.
There are three affected products - The Nestle Aero Hot Choc plastic jar (288g), the Nescafe and Go Nestle Aero Hot Choc sachet (24g) and the Nestle Aero Hot Choc cup (28g). All batch codes and best before dates are affected.

The FSAI said: “Nestle is recalling all batches of three Aero Hot Choc drinks due to the possible presence of small (up to 3mm) food-grade silica beads. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale."
Nestlé urged customers who purchased the affected products to get in touch with them to arrange a refund. They said: "Nestlé UK & Ireland is recalling three Aero hot chocolate products because of a quality issue.
"The products are Aero 'Hot Choc' jars (288g) and sachets (24g) and Aero Go Instant 'Hot Choc' cups (28g). No other Nestlé or Aero products are affected. There is a possibility that food-grade silica beads could be found in a very small number of packs.
"These are not harmful if consumed, but Nestlé sets very high standards for the quality of its products and any packs affected by this issue clearly fall short of those standards. This relates only to Aero hot chocolate and does not affect any other Nestlé or Aero products.
"We are asking consumers not to consume any of the above products, to dispose of the contents and send the lid of the jar, the empty sachet or the sleeve of the cups (cardboard or plastic 8-sleeve) with their name and address for a full refund (including postage) to:

"Postage from Ireland will be reimbursed along with the product refunded. The quality of our products is a non-negotiable priority for Nestlé. We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience caused by this recall."
