Tesco customers are being urged "please do not consume" a particular cheese product that has now been pulled from store fridges.
The supermarket has warned shoppers that one of its grated cheese items has been recalled as a precaution. This is because the cheese may contain small pieces of plastic.
When a product is recalled, for any reason, the Food Safety Agency (FSA) shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

A Tesco notice reads: "We’re recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g. This is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat."
The affected product is as follows:
- Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g
- Best before date: 23/03/23
Shoppers who have the affected batch are urged: "Please do not consume this product and instead return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."
If you would like any further information, please contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555.
