Tesco confirms return of Heinz products to store following price row

Heinz products are officially set to make their return to Tesco stores as both companies have reached a resolution in their pricing row.

The beloved UK food brand and supermarket giant released a joint statement confirming they had reached an agreement following their argument, reports The Mirror. Just last week seen Heinz pause its supply to the supermarket chain which led to a shortage of some of their most popular products, including ketchup and baked beanz.

While Heinz said that they were working with the supermarket to "resolve the issue", Tesco said the reason for the gaps in the shelves was down to pricing. A spokesperson for the supermarket chain said that they refused to "pass on unjustifiable price increases to shoppers".

But it looks like the two have finally made amends, with fan favourite sauces and soups making their way to Tesco stores once again.

Tesco and Heinz confirmed they news in a joint statement issued today. Both sides didn't go into detail about what the agreement involved.

In a joint statement, Tesco and Heinz said: "Tesco and Heinz are pleased to have reached an agreement that will see the full range of Heinz products return to Tesco shelves and online, continuing to offer our customers great value on the nation’s favourite Heinz.

“Lorries full of Heinz products including Heinz Tomato Ketchup and Heinz Beanz will hit the road shortly, and Tesco colleagues will be working hard to ensure shelves are filled again over the coming days.

“With British summertime finally here, Tesco shoppers will be able to get all the essentials they need for their perfect summer salad or barbecue, including the Heinz varieties they know and love. It’s great to be back together.”

It comes after the boss of Heinz Kraft Miguel Patricio warned shoppers that they would have to get used to paying higher prices for their products.

Tesco still appears to be in a dispute with Mars Petcare, which is affecting supplies of popular pet foods.

Whiskas, Dreamies, Pedigree, Sheba and Crave have reportedly been missing from shelves.

A Tesco spokesperson told The Mirror that Tesco is continuing to sell Mars pet food products - but admitted some items might be unavailable right now.
