Terry McLaurin describes the Commanders in three words

The Washington Commanders are 10-5 after Sunday’s 36-33 come-from-behind win over the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s Washington’s third consecutive win, and the Commanders ended Philadelphia’s 10-game winning streak.

The Eagles jumped out to a 14-0 lead and held it until the Commanders took their first lead with nine minutes remaining in the game. However, the lead didn’t last long, as the Eagles kicked a field goal to go back up 30-28 with 3:53 remaining.

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels would get another chance to win it but was intercepted, seemingly ending any chance at a win. However, the Commanders’ defense held, forcing another field goal. The Eagles now led 33-28, but Daniels would have two minutes to lead Washington to a win.

Ultimately, that’s what he did, using his right arm and his legs to make plays on the game-winning drive. Daniels finished the day passing for a career-high five touchdowns and led the Commanders with 81 rushing yards.

There’s something special about this team. Afterward, wide receiver Terry McLaurin explained the Commanders’ resiliency.

“We never flinch no matter what the score looks like,” McLaurin said. “We had what? Four or five turnovers? And that’s not our standard at all. We’ll get that cleaned up. But to win this game when there was a lot of ebbs and flows speaks to the resilience and the culture that we’re building here.”

He’s correct. Remember the “Hail Mary?”

McLaurin’s statement that the team never flinches is a reflection of head coach Dan Quinn and what he’s already built in a short time.

Sunday was a special day for McLaurin. He caught his 12th touchdown of the season, tying Ricky Sanders for the most in a single season in franchise history. He also went over 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth consecutive season.
