An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Kippax which saw staff threatened with a machete.
At 9.44pm on Wednesday night, police received the reports of the robbery at The Co-op on High Street, Kippax, Leeds. Three men entered the shop, one carrying a machete and two carrying large white carrier bags.
They demanded access to the safe before jumping over the cigarette counter and taking a large number of the cigarettes. The men then left the scene.

A member of staff was pushed to the ground but fortunately no one was injured. However, according to West Yorkshire Police, the staff were left shaken.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police in Leeds are investigating following an armed robbery in Kippax. At 9.44pm last night (Weds), police received reports of an armed robbery at The Co-op in High Street, Kippax.
"It was reported three males entered the store, one carrying a machete and two carrying large white carrier bags. The males demanded access to the safe before jumping over the cigarette counter and taking a large quantity of cigarettes.
"The three males made off from the scene a short time later. A member of staff was pushed to the ground, but no one was injured during the incident.
"The staff present were understandably shaken by the incident and enquiries are ongoing by Leeds CID to establish the circumstances."
