A “terrifying” nest containing thousands of wasps has been found inside a Victorian home, with an exterminator comparing the scene to "something out of an alien movie".
The discovery inside an abandoned house was documented on TikTok by a professional from the Victorian-based DAP Pest Control, who said he’d “never seen anything like it”.
The experienced exterminator said “fricking hell” repeatedly as he walked towards the giant nest, which was located in the bathroom.
According to Yahoo News reports, he described the operation as “unbelievable” and “terrifying” in a follow-up TikTok.
He told his followers of how he’d “never seen” anything like it before, comparing it to “something out of an alien movie”.
The man donned a full suit and mask to protect himself from being stung by the insects, as he went to tackle the situation at the home in Healesville, northeast of Melbourne.
He showed close-up videos of the incredible removal and began hitting the nest with a stick, causing thousands of wasps to emerge from the nest, swarming the room, according to Yahoo News reports .
The man shuts the door before spraying the insects, then opens the door again and continues the process.
He occasionally picks up pieces of the nest, which he said felt like “cardboard”.
"Can you hear the buzzing?" he said at one point.
"This is unbelievable,” he continued.
According to TikTok footage, wasps nests are usually situated on the ground.
This typically makes it harder to see them - which makes the nest shown in the video particularly unique.
The dramatic video showing the nest has been viewed more than 1.7million times, with the follow-up clip having been viewed by 88,000 followers.
The poster’s followers were both mesmerised and horrified by the clip.
"That's a job for a flamethrower my friend," one user commented, with another agreeing: "this is the only answer".
Others were impressed by the construction of the giant nest.
"How do they make it??? It’s pretty spectacular," one TikToker wrote.
"It’s gorgeous and terrifying all at the same time," another said.
