Terrifying headcam footage shows French 'Spiderman' scale Heron Tower

This is the terrifying view from the headcam of the so-called French ‘Spiderman’ as he scaled the tallest building in London’s financial district.

Video footage from Alain Robert’s camera reveals the nerve-shattering view he had beneath him from the Heron tower, which measures at 230m high.

The daredevil climber sparked a major police operation in the City last week after he scaled the building with his bare hands.

His antics, which caused the large police response, were understood to be a PR stunt for Dead Man’s Fingers rum.

Footage from the nerve-wracking video show Mr Robert holding on to the building with his bare hands and the long drop beneath him.

The climber can also be heard breathing heavily as he manoeuvres his feet carefully to not fall off.

City of London police confirmed they arrested the 56-year-old following the climb for “causing a public nuisance”.

Commander Karen Baxter condemned the stunt, accusing the risk-taker of diverting resources.

She said: "The incident this afternoon has had a considerable impact on police, other emergency services and the local community.

"Our officers, the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service all attended this incident taking them away from genuine emergencies.

"Road closures meant a significant disturbance to local transport and businesses and their staff located in the building were also considerably affected.

"While the incident has caused immense disruption to everyday business in the City of London it also posed a significant level of risk to the safety of people in and around Heron Tower at the time."
