Harry Styles has been left startled and terrified after being warned some people want to pull out his hair after he won four BRIT Awards on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old former One Direction star enjoyed a successful evening where he scooped the British Artist of the Year, British Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop/R&B Act awards.
But celebrations were dampened, somewhat, on Saturday night when Harry was warned by a post show host that they had heard whispers some over enthusiastic partygoers were planning to steal locks of his hair.
From the winners room, the Mirror had a ring side seat of the conversation which saw Harry appear concerned.
The winners room host said: “There are lots of people wanting to meet you at the parties some saying they want to pull out your hair.”
A perplexed Harry then replied: “I'm not really sure how to respond to that. I suppose I'll avoid those people.”
Earlier, Harry confessed to the Mirror that he misses England when his music and film career keeps him away from British shores for months on end.
Suggesting his raft of awards was a bonus compared to the fact he was able to return home, he said: “I feel incredibly lucky to get to do this.
“I think especially after the last couple years of touring and everything coming back you know the last year and a half, probably miss England the most out of everything.”
He added: “Landing back this week felt really really nice and coming home and having this evening felt really special it's always gonna be very special to me.”
Harry appeared to be in a reflective mood for much of the night, as he cast his mind back to his X Factor days when he picked up the British Artist of the Year Award.
In a nod to his One Direction past, he said: "I want to thank my family for being the most supportive, understanding, patient, loving family I could have ever asked for.
"I want to thank my mum for signing me up for The X Factor without telling me, so I literally wouldn’t be here without you.
"I want to thank Niall (Horan), Louis (Tomlinson), Liam (Payne) and Zayn (Malik) because I wouldn't be here without you either, thank you so much."
He triumphed in the category which also saw Central Cee, Fred Again, George Ezra and Stormzy nominated.
There has been some controversy this year over the Best British Artist Award - which saw one gong going up for grabs instead of two with one traditionally labelled for male winners and a second for female winners.
With no gender specific award for the 2023 ceremony, there were raised eyebrows last month when the shortlist revealed no women had been nominated for the most coveted prize.
In a desperate attempt to calm a spectacular backlash, a BRIT Award spokesperson said at the time: “While it’s disappointing there are no nominations in the artist of the year category, we also have to recognise that 2022 saw fewer high profile women artists in cycle with major releases as was the case in 2021.”
