Terrified Blackpool tourists flee as horse bolts down busy road and injures woman

Watch the terrifying moment an out-of-control horse bolted down a busy road in Blackpool and injured a female pedestrian.

Police were called to the junction in the main area for visitors near the promenade at 1.40pm on Saturday September 10. The woman sustained injuries to her hand and foot, and attended hospital for treatment.

Bystander Ezra Mills was able to capture footage showing the horse and cart bolting across the road. The video then pans to show a man leap across a car bonnet in order to get out of the path of the horse.

The cart being dragged by the spooked animal is filmed smashing into the car just moments after the man got out of its way. A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: "We were called to an incident at approximately 13.37 on Saturday where a horse had reared. A woman suffered injuries to her wrist and foot, with her attending hospital for treatment."

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance service also confirmed that a person was treated for minor injuries.
