Video footage of a cyclist and driver locked in a heated exchange on Leith Walk has emerged on social media. The footage shows a cyclist and motorist shouting at one another as they hold up traffic on the busy city centre road.
The drama seems to be centred around the cyclist's decision not to use the optional cycle lane, instead choosing to cycle along the road with motorists. The two are videoed arguing with one another about the cycle lane as they wait for the temporary traffic lights to turn green.

However, they continue to argue even after traffic is once again allowed to move, prompting yells from the other drivers trapped in the jam.
The video appears to show the woman arguing with the driver about a lamppost in the middle of the cycle lane, stopping her from safely using it.
She can be heard yelling to the driver: “That lamppost is smack in the middle of the road, use your eyes, man!”
As the pair are continuing to argue, another driver can be heard yelling over to them: "The light's green, the light's green! Let's Go!"
While the lane is free from other cyclists, there does appear to be lampposts in the middle of the lane as well as temporary roadworks signs obstructing one side.
Recent changes to the Highway Code mean cyclists can now ride in the centre of their lane on quieter roads, in slower-moving traffic and at the approach to junctions or road narrowings.
The footage emerged on social media site TikTok.
