A Tennessee teenager charged with breaking into a woman's home and raping her had previously been released without bond for an attempted break-in of another home, according to a report.

Junior Amaya, 18, faces aggravated rape and aggravated burglary in the Monday assault. Amaya lives on the same street as the woman, WREG-3 reported.

On December 22, 2024, Amaya was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated burglary of a home on the same street. In that incident, Amaya was not held; rather, he was released on his own recognizance, according to Memphis Noticias.

The outlet reported that Amaya was seen milling about the home, and the owner told him to leave. Later, while the homeowner was sleeping, Amaya allegedly attempted to break-in from the backyard.

On Monday, Amaya allegedly entered the woman's home, and a struggle ensued. Police allege that he overpowered and raped the woman, telling her he would kill her if she called the police.

Regardless, the woman called the police, and Amaya was picked up down the street from the woman's home, WREG-3 reported. After the incident Monday, Amaya is being held on $150,000 bond.
