A shooting at a high school in Tennessee left two students dead, including the gunman, and two students injured.
A 17-year-old student was reportedly arguing with a 16-year-old student when he opened fire, killing the girl and then himself inside the cafeteria at Antioch High School on Wednesday, WSMV reported.
He also struck another student who sustained a non-life-threatening graze wound. The fourth student was apparently injured during the incident but did not suffer a gunshot wound.
"Today we lost students in a tragic incident forever changing the lives of the families and those who knew them," Metro Nashville Public Schools Director Dr. Adrienne Battle said, according to WSMV. "I want to thank the school staff who quickly followed emergency protocols potentially stopping others from being harmed."
The deadly school shooting comes less than 24 hours after the White House's Office of Gun Violence Prevention website went dark. It now displays a 404 error page.
Former President Joe Biden established the office under the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act in 2023, which was overseen by former Vice President Kamala Harris, Mashable reported.
