Tennessee goes for onside kick up 30-0 in first quarter over Kent State

Josh Heupel must believe adage no lead is safe. That can be the only reason he had his Tennessee team do what it did on Saturday against Kent State.

Up 30-0 with three-plus minutes left in the first quarter, the Vol executed and recovered and onside kick.

Heupel’s fear of no lead is safe was unfounded: Tennessee led its MAC opponent 65-0 heading into the half.
