Ten individuals were wounded in a shooting incident that occurred outside Amazura nightclub in Jamaica, Queens, New York City. The incident took place at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday while a group of about 15 people was waiting to attend a private event at the venue.

According to New York Police Department Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera, a group of three or four men approached the young crowd, aged between 16 to 20 years old, and opened fire. Approximately 30 shots were fired before the assailants fled the scene on foot and later were observed getting into a vehicle with out-of-state license plates.

Chief Rivera emphasized the city's 'zero tolerance' policy towards such violent acts, denouncing the shooting as a senseless act. The victims, consisting of six women and four men, were promptly transported to nearby hospitals with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening.

The incident prompted a significant response from law enforcement, with a large police presence and multiple ambulances visible outside the nightclub. While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, Chief Rivera stated that there is no indication of terrorism being involved in the incident.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges related to gun violence in urban areas and the need for continued efforts to address such incidents and ensure public safety.
