"Ten Hag's got a plan for him" - Manchester United fans get excited as Amad scores again for Sunderland

Manchester United loanee Amad scored a 96th-minute goal for Sunderland on Wednesday night as they beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 in the Championship.

Amad left United to go on loan during the summer transfer window and has made 11 appearances for Sunderland in the Championship this season. Having initially been made to wait for his chance, the Ivorian has now started three consecutive matches against Burnley, Luton Town and Huddersfield in his bid to impress Erik ten Hag during his time away from the club.

The 20-year-old's performance against Luton, that saw him score his first goal for his loan side, convinced Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray that he deserved a run of games in the first-team. He has now repaid his manager's faith with his second goal in three games.

Mowbray was full of praise for Amad after the display against Luton, saying: "With his physical data, he was top in every aspect from distance covered to number of high-speed sprints, he was amazingly athletic as well as showing his talent. That bodes well for us and also accelerates him in my mind in terms of him being a starting player for us, beyond a young lad who I can bring off the bench."

The Sunderland manager was proved right late in the match when Amad launched a 96th-minute counter-attack, cleverly playing a one-two on the edge of the penalty box before firing the ball low under the Huddersfield goalkeeper from a tight angle to seal all three points for his side.

United fans could not hide their excitement after the full-time whistle blew, as they took to social media to praise the youngster for his performance.
