There are many cats in Merseyside currently up for adoption.
Rescue charities across the region are looking for households willing to open their homes, and their hearts, to a feline friend. With many cats currently up for adoption, some are sadly, not being looked at twice.
From abandoned pets that were saved by the public to strays found on the streets, here, we have put together a list of 10 cats that are up for adoption in Merseyside, and where to find them - from the RSPCA to Freshfields in Sefton.

Over at Freshfields you will find:
Old Socks
He’s a very gentle old man of 17 who loves to sleep for much of the day. Socks was returned to Freshfields recently after spending 15 years as a beloved cat.
His owner was in poor health and couldn’t care for him anymore. He did have a home lined up but sadly they let him down at the last minute.
Trooper
Trooper can be a bit shy when she first meets you, and then almost immediately becomes very sweet-natured once she gets to know you. She is very affectionate and friendly with a great personality. Trooper has lived with other cats before and gets on well with them, so staff will consider a home where there are existing pets.
Bella
Bella has become a long-term member of the Liverpool Cattery, having been there for three years. Bella arrived at Freshfields due to her previous owner moving and being unable to take her with them.
She is 11 and is diabetic but lives a perfectly normal life as her diabetes is controlled via insulin injections. She has lived with other cats, but she would thrive better as the only cat. Due to her health issues, Freshfields will provide assistance.
Ragdoll Dave
This beautiful ragdoll cat was brought to Freshfields cattery as his previous owner became allergic and couldn’t look after him any longer. When Dave first arrived at the rescue, he was a little spicy and not sure about his new environment.
However, once he spent some time with us, his softer side began to blossom. He’s 11, a big softy and a very affectionate and attentive cat who loves to interact with people. Looking for a cat-free home, he could be rehomed in a home with older children.
Sora
Before arriving at the rescue, two-year-old Sora had been mistreated and would wince and cower in fear before striking out. After a couple of rough days of scratches, and the gentle persistence and determination from staff and volunteers, Sora quickly realised that she had nothing to fear.
This petite lady has obviously not had the best start in life, and deserves a wonderful home. Sora’s ideal home would be a a calm and relaxed place, where she can feel secure and safe and form loving relationships with her new family.
Freshfields can be contacted at cattery@freshfields.org.uk or call the human secretaries on 0151 931 1604. More can be found online here.
At the RSPCA Wirral and Chester branch:
Buffy
Two-year-old Buffy is a young confident female who was rehomed to a great family but was not getting on with the other cats in the home. Due to this staff will rehome Buffy with no other cats or dogs to reduce the risk of stress.
Banksy
Around three-years-old, Banksy is said to have "quite the character" as he loves getting between your feet. Banksy can change personality quickly however so due to this, he will not be suitable to live with kids or dogs.
He may be able to live with another cat. Due to his long coat he does need brushing, this may not be the easiest of tasks at first, but he will ease into it once he has built a bond with the right person.
Tallulah
Aged around five, Tallulah's previous owner was in a position where she had to sign her over to the rescue but they had a very strong bond. She is a quiet girl and is just trying to settle into her new life.
She may be able to be rehomed with another cat but she is looking for a calmer home where she can take her time to settle in.
Fezco and Nate
Nate and Fezco were two of three cats brought to the RSPCA in a dog crate after allegedly being found abandoned. They are both quieter boys who are looking for a quieter home where they can relax and get to know their new owner without worrying.
They are looking to be adopted together in a dog free home, older children and outdoor space to explore.
