My first week sleeping on the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow
Night 1: Less cloud, more pancake
My first impression of the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow was that it was surprisingly flat. Stomach sleeper pillows are typically low loft (to prevent the neck twisting) but I was expecting something named after a cloud to have more 'puffiness'.
Especially as the squishy nature of the foam means when you press into the pillow, you can almost flatten it. I've always heard Tempur Material described as squishy, so I was expecting marshmallow soft from my pillow — and I wasn't disappointed.
However, I was worried that the pancake-like nature of the Tempur-Cloud Pillow would leave me unsupported. By the end of night one, I was reassured. While my head and shoulders weren't lifted, the dense foams still provided a cushioned barrier between me and my mattress.
Night 2-7:
The best mattresses for stomach sleepers support the natural curve of the spine, which becomes flattened in this unusual sleep position. In turn, a good stomach sleeper pillow should keep the head and neck low to align with the back.
This is what the Tempur-Cloud has achieved during the first week of testing. The low loft means my neck isn't forced upwards, allowing my muscles to relax. I can feel a similar benefit when back sleeping.
Despite the flatter build, the dense foams provide ample pressure relief. Cushioning prevents my shoulder, jaw or ear from growing numb during the night, and the contouring fills the gap between the mattress and my head.
During this week long testing period I came down with a cold, giving me an unusual opportunity to explore the Tempur-Cloud in-depth.
One big benefit I noticed while struggling with a bout of illness-induced insomnia was that no matter how much I tossed and turned, the pillow simply adjusted to my new position — no fluffing required.
However, I'd also developed a fever and I woke up overly warm several times during the night. At these moments I struggled to find the 'cool side' of the Tempur-Cloud. It all felt uncomfortably warm.

Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow: My early thoughts
After a week of testing, I'm impressed with the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow for stomach and back sleeping. It can be hard to find a stomach sleeping pillow that cushions the head without lifting the neck, but the Tempur-Cloud strikes a good balance.
I still need more time to fully review the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Cloud Pillow — I've hardly attempted side sleeping and I need to make a few assessments not afflicted by fever.
However, I've heard a lot about Tempur-Material since working as a sleep writer (did you know it's the original memory foam and based on a NASA design?) but this was my first chance to see if it lives up to its dense pressure relief promises. So far, it's not let me down.
