Shoplifting offences reported by police in England and Wales have risen to a 20-year high, according to official figures.
It comes as UK retailers warn that crime in stores is “spiralling out of control” – with 55,000 thefts a day and violent and abusive incidents rising by 50% last year.
The rise in crime follows a time of squeezed living costs, with UK inflation hitting 40-year highs in recent years.
We want to hear from you – are you a retail worker, security guard, customer or someone else who has experience related to rising shiplifting? What stories do you have, and what’s it like on the frontline?
