Micah Richards would have 'had a word' with Jurgen Klopp for what he did at full-time after Liverpool won 9-0

Micah Richards has questioned whether Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was being "patronising" towards Bournemouth manager Scott Parker after the Reds beat the Cherries 9-0 at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Klopp could be seen after the final whistle putting his arm around the young manager and the German offered some words of encouragement as Parker suffered a record-equalling highest Premier League defeat.

The Sky Sports pundit insisted it would be the last thing he would've wanted had he been on the receiving end of a defeat like the one Parker was at Anfield on Saturday.

Richards was talking on BBC Radio 5 Live's The Monday Night Club on Monday night as he criticised the Liverpool boss for putting his arm around Parker's shoulder at the full time whistle.

"Patronising. If I've just lost 9-0 and I've had some absolute shockers, I remember one against Chelsea and one against Liverpool," said the former Manchester City defender. "If a player put his arm around me I'd tell him where to go, that's the last thing you want. Klopp's not doing it to be patronising, he's doing it to be nice, but still, you don't want someone to put their arm around you when you've just lost 9-0.

"Not a chance. I would have just had a word afterwards. There's cameras on you 24/7 and if Scott Parker reacts then it makes it something a lot bigger than it needs to be. You don't want someone's arm around you when you've just lost 9-0, come on."

Liverpool next play on Wednesday night when they take on Eddie Howe's Newcastle side at Anfield as Klopp's side look to make it two wins on the bounce.
