HYDERABAD: For the first time, Telangana ministers and other TRS leaders, especially those who switched loyalties and joined from TDP, not only paid tributes to former CM of united AP and TDP founder NT Rama Rao, but also announced that the party will demand Bharat Ratna to the actor in Parliament. They said TRS had earlier demanded Bharat Ratna to former PM PV Narasimha Rao.
Ministers Ch Malla Reddy, TRS floor leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageshwara Rao, ex minister Mothkupally Narsimhulu, MLA Arikepudi Gandhi and other leaders paid tributes to NTR on his birth centenary at NTR Ghat on Necklace Road on Saturday. During earlier birth and death anniversary celebrations, TRS leaders stayed away from visiting NTR Ghat.
Nama Nagehshwar Rao said NTR deserves Bharat Ratna as he had introduced revolutionary welfare schemes such as 2 kg rice to the poor when he was CM. “Like NTR, KCR is also following his footsteps and introduced several schemes for farmers and poor,” Nageshwara Rao said. Minister Malla Reddy said NTR should have become PM had he been alive. TDP Telangana president Bakkani Narsimhulu also paid tributes to the former CM on his birth anniversary.
