Telangana: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao in Delhi to firm up national plans

HYDERABAD: After announcing a month ago that he was not floating any front but was instead focussing on setting an alternative agenda for the country, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao left for Delhi on Friday.

Though the chief minister’s office (CMO) said that the CM will be meeting eminent economists and prominent journalists during his visit, KCR’s team is reportedly also speaking to some leaders such as SP’s Akhilesh Yadav who is likely to come to Delhi to meet the TRS supremo. The CM could not meet him in the past few months as Akhilesh was busy with UP elections.

KCR will be meeting his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal during the distribution of cheques to families of farmers who died in Delhi and Punjab. KCR was supposed to meet Kejriwal a couple of months ago, but the meeting did not happen as the Delhi CM was in Bangalore. Later , AAP leaders had also attacked KCR, accusing him of corruption.

Party sources said KCR would interact with national leaders, retired bureaucrats, journalists and economists mainly to discuss the proposed workshop in Delhi to prepare an alternative agenda for the country and also on integrated agriculture policy.

“The CM spoke to many economists and personalities over phone in the past one week. He shared his concerns over the policies of the Centre, especially on rising inflation and prevailing atmosphere in the country. They agreed with KCR,” a TRS leader said.
