Tekken 8 just announced its third DLC character, Heihachi Mishima, who will wreak havoc after coming back to life, again.

The updates to the game just keep coming since it was released earlier this year much to the delight of fans of the franchise. Developer Bandai Namco took to the Evo 2024 stage to reveal the character with a bombastic new trailer.

Tekken 8 Reveals the Return of Heihachi Mishima

The last time that fans of the series saw Heihachi was when he was tossed into a volcano at the end of Tekken 7. Director Katsuhiro Harada said just last year that the character was "completely dead" but it appears that this is not the case within the franchise's lore.

The new trailer doesn't show any direct gameplay footage of Heihachi but it showed fans a glimpse of some very familiar moves for the demon-smashing karate master. These include his doublepalm, uppercut, and Wind God Fist, according to EventHubs.

The latest reveal shows that Heihachi and the Mishima style will play a big role in Tekken 8's first Story Mode expansion with a group of "Tekken Monks." The latter is said to be taking out the remnants of the Mishima Zaibatsu.

The trailer also featured Eddy Gordo and Lidia Sobieska, which suggests that the two characters could play a role in the game's new story chapter. Another character who was shown was Reina, who is heard saying, "It's almost time."

Releasing a New Story Chapter

In the new footage, Heiahchi is seen walking out laughing while surrounded by fire as he wears the same insignia as the Tekken Monks. This implies that he has become the group's leader.

The announcement of the upcoming DLC character was made at Ev0 2024, where Tekken 8 was a major attraction for players looking to compete in high-level matches.

It was also something for viewers who wanted to watch the best of the best fight against each other, said GameSpot.

Heihachi's reveal has surprised many fans of the series but also comes as welcome news as he is a fan favorite and one of the main antagonists of the series. He is expected to arrive in Tekken 8 sometime in Fall 2024.

Harada and producer Michael Murray also said that Lidia Sobieska will be released on July 22, 2024, for the United States and July 23, 2024, for the rest of the world.

She will be coming alongside all players getting access to the photo mode and the seaside stage, according to VG247.

Tekken 8 is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows
