Airports in the Iranian capital of Tehran have resumed flights at 6:00 a.m. local time on Monday, following a temporary suspension due to heightened regional tensions. Both Imam Khomeini Airport and Mehrabad Airport had halted flights after Iran's attack on Israel.
Travel disruptions were felt as a result of the conflict. United Airlines had to cancel at least three flights to and from the Middle East on Saturday. Dutch carrier KLM also decided to avoid flying over Iran and Israel as a precautionary measure, although it will continue its operations to and from Tel Aviv.
Furthermore, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa, the only two Western airlines offering international flights to Iran, have announced the suspension of their services to and from Tehran until April 18.
The resumption of flights in Tehran signifies a step towards normalcy in the region, as tensions ease following the recent events. Passengers and airlines alike will be monitoring the situation closely to ensure safe and smooth travel in the coming days.
