Teens caught dangerously hanging from back of Edinburgh bus on busy road

Two youngsters were spotted hanging from the back off of a bus on a busy Edinburgh road.

Local resident Rosie Priest snapped the youths on North Bridge near to the popular Scotsman hotel.

The pair appear to be hanging dangerously from the rear of the number 30 Lothian bus as it's driving through the city centre heading towards Queen Margaret University, reports Edinburgh Live.

In their Twitter post, Rosie says: “Is this what free bus travel for under 18s actually looks like?” They added that they hoped the kids would not get in too much trouble for being young and foolish.

One Twitter user quote tweeted Rosie’s post and said: “The number 30 still originate in Wester Hailes aye”

The image was shared yesterday afternoon and shows the two young people foolishly hanging to the back of the vehicle with one lad clad in a grey cotton tracksuit with a blue body warmer and the other with black cotton joggers on and a dark green jacket.

The number 30 bus traditionally takes a route from Clovenstone in Wester Hailes to Musselburgh/Queen Margaret University.

The tweet was liked and shared by dozens of locals shocked at the lads receiving a free lift as the bus headed towards the Old Town.

@CAGarvie also kidded: " I guess when you apply for the pass, you get sent a magnet."

While @JulieEshlemanAT added: "Oh geez, I miss being in Edinburgh!"

Lothian Buses were contacted for comment.
