A SCOTTISH teenager who died after a tree hit his car during Storm Eowyn has been named by police.
The 19-year-old was driving near Mauchline, East Ayrshire, on Friday morning when the incident happened at around 6.45am.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, but sadly died on Saturday.
He has now been named by police as Calum Carmichael, from the New Cumnock Area.
Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our thoughts remain with Calum’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
The rare red weather warning for Storm Eowyn was in place from 9am till 5pm on Friday, with Scotland seeing wind gusts of up to 100mph.
Trains, ferries, and bus services were all cancelled amid the storm, which saw more than 200,000 properties hit by power issues.
