Teenager rushed to hospital after stabbing in Carlton

A 17-year-old boy has been hospitalised after a suspected stabbing in Nottingham. The incident took place in Oakdale Road in Carlton at around 6pm on Monday, April 11.

Police are now investigating and say they want to reassure the community that the incident is being treated seriously and multiple lines of enquiry are being pursued. The teenager's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Inspector Ben Lawrence, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “An investigation has been launched following reports of an alleged stabbing in Oakdale Road, Carlton. A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening following the incident at around 6pm last night (11 April 2022).

“Officers attended the scene within minutes of being made aware of this incident and enquiries are still ongoing to establish what happened. We know incidents of this nature cause a great deal of concern, however I would like to reassure the community that this incident is being treated seriously.

“We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry and we have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the public while we carry on with our work. Anyone who saw this incident or has information that could assist us with our enquires, is asked to contact the police immediately on 101, quoting incident 627 of 11 April 2022.”
