Teenager rushed to hospital after being struck by bus in North Ayrshire

Ayrshire police are carrying out enquiries after a teenager was hit by a bus.

The 14-year-old boy was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hopsital to be treated for his injuries.

The incident happened at Irvine's Broomlands Busway on Tuesday night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Tuesday, June 6, police were made aware of a crash involving a bus and a 14-year-old pedestrian in the Broomlands Busway area of Irvine.

“Emergency services attended and the 14-year-old boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
