A teenager is in hospital after he was set upon by a gang in an "absolutely shocking" attack last night in Finglas.
The attack happened last night and a number of roads, including Cappagh Road, were closed this morning as a result by gardai.
Officers cordoned off the area to allow an investigation of the scene to take place.
The road has since been reopened.
The teenager's injuries, thankfully, are said to be "non-life threatening".
A spokesman for the Gardai said: "Shortly after 10.00pm, Gardaí received report that a male teenager was assaulted by a group.
"The teenager was taken to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) Hospital at Temple Street. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening."
They added: "Investigations are ongoing."
Local Councillor Noeleen Reilly told Dublin Live it is "absolutely shocking".
She said: "It is absolutely shocking that this could happen and obviously the full details have yet to come out.
"I hope all those involved are going to be okay and I hope the Gardai get assistance from the public in terms of finding out what actually happened here."
