
Six people have been arrested after a teenager was left fighting for his life in a stabbing in Canning Town.
The Met Police were called to reports of an assault on Hallsville Road near Canning Town station on Saturday shortly after 8.30pm.
Officers found a 17-year-old boy with stab injuries at the scene. The force added that he remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
The Met added that crime scenes are in place and officers remain in the area.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.33pm on Saturday 1 March to reports of a stabbing on Silvertown Way, Canning Town.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“Our first paramedic arrived in three minutes. We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
A Met spokesperson added: “Detectives are investigating following a stabbing in Newham.
“Police were called at about 20:35hrs on Saturday, 1 March to reports of an assault on Hallsville Road, E16.
“Officers attended and found a 17-year-old male with stab injuries.
“He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. He remains in a critical but stable condition.
“Six people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
“Crime scenes are in place and officers remain in the area.
