A teenager was pulled down the aisle of a Merseyrail train and kicked on the floor.
The boy was travelling between New Brighton and Liverpool Central when he was attacked by a man. The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday, May 27.
During the attack, a man dragged the victim down the train aisle by his hood, before throwing him to the floor and kicking him. British Transport police have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection to the attack.
Officers believe that the man pictured may have information to help the investigation.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Do you recognise this man? Officers have today issued an image following an assault on a teenager travelling on a train between New Brighton and Liverpool Central stations.
"The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday 27 May, when a man dragged a young boy down the aisle by his hood before throwing him to the floor and kicking him. Detectives would like to speak to the man in the image who they believe may have information that could help their investigation.
"Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 296 of 27/05/2023. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
