A teenager has been charged in connection with an attempted murder after an incident in Kilmarnock left a schoolboy with serious injuries.
On October 24, the 14-year-old boy was injured during the incident on Soulis Street at around 6.20pm. He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
Officers have confirmed that a 17-year-old man has now been arrested and charged.
The youth, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today. He made no plea to the charges of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.
The 17-year-old, from the town, was remanded in custody and will appear before the court within the next eight days.
