Teenager arrested on weapon charge after being stabbed in the head in east London

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of holding an “offensive” weapon after being stabbed in the head in an east London high street.

The man, aged 19, was rushed to hospital after being attacked in High Road, Chadwell Heath at 10pm on Thursday.

Horrific video from the scene shows the man being treated by paramedics and being taken into an ambulance on a stretcher.

His condition was downgraded to not life-threatening.

Police said he was then arrested on suspicion of having an offensive weapon.

A Met spokesman said “Police were called at 21:59hrs on Thursday, 2 March, to reports of a stabbing in High Road, Chadwell Heath.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

“A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his head. His condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

“He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

“Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.”
