A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot near a skate park.
Police were called to Birch Green Road in Skelmersdale at 6.11pm on Wednesday, November 9 over reports of a gun being fired. A man in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to hospital for his injuries.
A 19-year-old man is currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Following the incident, one eyewitness said he saw a man covered in blood from the waist down.

They said: "I was standing in the doorway when two lads came down on bikes and I heard someone shouting. I heard a sound like a firework.
"I went out and they were shouting, 'he's been shot'. There was a man on the ground with blood from the waist downwards; we tried to pick him up. Then his mates said, look after him, jumped on the bike and went off."
The incident took place near a skate park and soon after, several surrounding roads were closed off. Police said the victim still remains in hospital.
A 21-year-old man from Skelmersdale was arrested earlier on suspicion of attempted murder, but has since been released on police bail.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We are really grateful to everyone who has provided information so far and we would continue to appeal to anyone who has information, saw anything suspicious or who has CCTV or other footage, to get in touch.
