A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital after he was stabbed and his bike stolen. South Wales Police is investigating the incident, which was reported at 6.20pm on Tuesday, May 25, and left the boy in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the teenager was with his friend riding bikes along Minny Street in Cathays, Cardiff, when they were approached by three people. After a brief conversation between the two groups, an altercation broke out.
During the altercation, the victim was punched and stabbed, while he also had his bike stolen. He was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he is receiving treatment.

Extensive police enquiries are underway to identify the three suspects. Following the incident, they fled the scene and ran along Minny Street before turning left onto Fanny Street, officers said.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police is investigating a stabbing in Minny Street, Cathays, which was reported at 6.20pm last night. A 16-year-old boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is receiving treatment at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff."
Detective Sergeant Greg Burns said: “The victim and his friend were riding bicycles when they were approached by three suspects in the street. After a conversation lasting a few minutes, an altercation break out where the victim was punched, stabbed and his bike was stolen.
"The three suspects made off along Minny Street and turned left into Fanny Street. Extensive enquiries are on-going to identify those responsible and would urge anyone with information to please contact South Wales Police.”
