Rhasidat Adeleke underlined her massive potential yet again this weekend as she set a new Irish record in the 400m.
She recorded a time of 50.70 on Sunday night thereby breaking Joanne Cuddihy's 15-year-old mark of 50.73.
Amazingly, Adeleke had previously clocked a personal best of 51.70 seconds just 24 hours beforehand.
Adeleke was competing stateside for her college the University of Texas at the illustrious Big 12 Championships Meeting.
It was a Longhorns University 1,2,3 as the Tallaght native came home in third just behind teammates Stacey Ann Williams and Kennedy Simon respectively as they torched the field which also featured top prospects from across the entire American collegiate system.
Her remarkable display topped off what had already a supreme weekend for Irish athletics as four other national records were broken.
Louise Shannahan is the new all-time leader at 800m after recording 1:59:42 at the Belfast Irish Milers meet.
Meanwhile Eric Favors set a new benchmark in shot put with a throw of 20.07 metres in Puerto Rico.
In addition to those three senior records, Dean Casey now holds the U20 10,000m mark at 28:57:34 while Sarah Healy now leads the way in the U23 mile at 4:29:03.
