Teenage boy arrested as knife, balaclava and screwdrivers recovered from abandoned car after chase

A teenage boy was arrested after a knife, balaclava and screwdrivers were recovered from an abandoned car. Police had initially been called to a report of males climbing into gardens along Nook Lane in Ashton-under-Lyne in the early hours of Tuesday morning (November 22).

On arrival, an orange Honda Civic was seen in the nearby area which had failed to stop for officers. Following a pursuit, it was later abandoned in Droylsden.

Police searched the car and uncovered a knife, balaclava, screwdrivers and illegal Class B drugs in the vehicle. One young male, aged 15, was detained and arrested at the scene.
