A teenage boy was rushed to hospital on Thursday afternoon after he was hit by a car in Urmston. The incident happened on Crofts Bank Road at around 3.40pm (April 28).
Emergency services rushed to the scene, with police closing off the road in both directions at the junction with Winchester Road. Paramedics attended and took the 13-year-old boy to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed he was conscious and breathing after the incident, but had sustained a back injury. No arrests were made, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "This incident involved a 13 year old male who was in collision with a car. He was taken to Royal Manchester Children’s hospital. He was conscious and breathing, the log indicates he had a back injury."
The road reopened shortly after the teenager was taken to hospital.
