They said: "We have lost our beautiful girl in the most tragic way. She was about to start her dream career and has now had all that taken away. We ask as a family to be allowed to grieve in private.”

Since the ECHO published the news following Chloe's tragic death, many people have sent their condolences to her family and paid tribute to the teen.

Writing on the ECHO's Facebook page, Mary Underwood said: "How utterly heartbreaking. R.I.P Chloe, sincere condolences to your family and friends."

Louise Bayliss added: "This is so sad to read - I’m ex BA cabin crew and there’s a saying in aviation that cabin crew don’t pass away - they fly higher. My thoughts are with her family and friends"

Andy Loftus also said: "Absolutely everything to live for just totally heartbreaking. RIP Beautiful young lady, sending my deepest condolences and prayers."

Lorrain Crockett said: "Sincere thoughts are with all family & friends absolutely devastating, the loss of a beautiful girl."

Chloe's family is being supported by specialist officers. A 27-year-old man from Rossendale was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information or dashcam footage from around the time of the collision to come forward.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact Cheshire Police via the Cheshire Police website quoting IML 1426483 or call 101.
