Detectives are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after two cars ploughed into a teenager during a fight in Tower Hamlets.
The victim, 18, was rushed to hospital with a head injury by paramedics after the clash just after midnight on Wednesday.
He was struck by two cars in Poplar High street which had fled when police arrived.
Officers are trawling through CCTV footage around the crime scene in the hunt for the drivers.
A police statement said: “Police were called at 00:18hrs on Wednesday, 6 July to reports of a group of people fighting in Cotton Street, Poplar.
“Officers attended and found an 18-year-old man with head injuries. He was taken to hospital and later discharged.
“It was reported the man had been involved in an altercation with a group of people in Poplar High Street a short time earlier.
“During this, the man was reportedly deliberately struck by two cars which left the scene before officers arrived.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identify the cars involved.
Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses who were in the area who may have information or dash cam footage.”
