Teen spots 'UFO' after seeing 'flashing' object with a 'black orb' while camping in UK

A teenager in Cornwall believes he spotted a "black orb" UFO while camping with friends.

Robert Collom was camping with the National Citizen Service (NCS) when he noticed a strange object flashing different colours, as reported by Cornwall Live.

The 16-year-old said: "Me and my mate thought it was a red star or something. Then we saw it flash. I thought that ain't a red star because they don’t flash.

"We took our phones out and put them in night mode so we got loads of weird pictures from it. We thought we just had to get some pictures of it because there have been a few UFO sightings recently."

Fellow camper Chloe Dowling said: "We were basically stargazing and me and my friend Robert thought we saw something out of the ordinary in the sky. It first appeared to be a light moving and flashing a variety of colours, red/blue/green and, of course, white. Robert used his phone to zoom in on the unidentified object and caught some fascinating images."

The term 'UFO' doesn't necessarily refer to theories that there is extraterrestrial life flying about above us, more the object spotted in the night sky is not obviously something like a plane or helicopter.

The strange sight in the sky was seen on July 7 and the county is believed to be a hotspot for UFOs. It was recently reported that Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence (METI) would be broadcasting messages for alien life from the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station in October.

Chloe added: "The zoomed-in object was definitely not a star. We thought that at first but because I’m so intrigued with astrology I had a feeling it wasn’t something you would usually see in the sky. For a while we thought it was the satellite but later on in the morning around 3/4 we saw it pass by so that immediately meant it wasn’t."

"At first I actually thought it was a red supernova but that is proven false at this moment. I hoped these images helped."

In March, Seaton local Dan Pengelly saw an object that looked like it was "on fire ".

Dan said: "There’s no way it was a meteor or anything. It changed direction, horizontally in front of me then changed direction again out to see.

I was just hypnotised, staring at it wondering, what the hell...I thought: ‘that’s some sort of weird bloody spacecraft.’"
