Teen sisters stabbed in hate crime at Grand Central Terminal

Teen girls stabbed at Grand Central Terminal on Christmas Day, suspect charged with hate crimes.

In a shocking incident that unfolded at Grand Central Terminal in New York City on Christmas Day, two teenage girls were stabbed, resulting in serious injuries. Authorities have announced that the suspect, Stephen Hutcherson, has now been charged with hate crimes after making explicit comments about white people during the attack.

The incident took place inside a restaurant at the iconic Grand Central Station. According to investigators, Hutcherson entered the establishment and requested a table while expressing his desire not to sit with black people. Without warning, he approached the two teen sisters, who were visiting from Paraguay, and mercilessly stabbed them. The severity of the attack left one of the girls, aged 16, with a collapsed lung.

Reports indicate that this is not the first time Hutcherson has found himself on the wrong side of the law. The 36-year-old has a troubling criminal record, having been arrested multiple times in the past. In fact, he had been taken into custody twice within the last six months alone. Shockingly, just last month, Hutcherson allegedly threatened to shoot and kill an individual in the Bronx, shouting hateful remarks about white people.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams addressed the incident, emphasizing the urgent need to address individuals like Hutcherson who perpetrate such violent acts. The mayor stressed the importance of swiftly apprehending repeat offenders to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike. The arrest in this case was executed without delay, enabling investigators to swiftly gather evidence for the subsequent legal proceedings.

Authorities have confirmed that Hutcherson is well-known to the New York Police Department. His alarming history of nearly two dozen arrests underscores the urgency of taking appropriate measures to keep the community safe. The suspect is currently being held in custody, awaiting his court appearance later this week.

Given Hutcherson's criminal record and the gravity of the charges leveled against him, questions arise as to why he was out on the streets prior to the Christmas Day attack. Although the District Attorney's office has been contacted for comment on this matter, no official statement has been received at this time.

This unfortunate incident continues to highlight the need for comprehensive measures to safeguard public spaces and combat hate crimes in our society. The safety of individuals, regardless of their race or ethnicity, should be a top priority, and incidents like these only reinforce the importance of swift justice and rigorous law enforcement.
