Melbourne City will head into their crunch derby against Melbourne Victory back in the top six and with renewed confidence after teenager Lawrence Wong delivered a 1-0 win over Perth Glory.
City had lost three games on the bounce and sat seventh heading into Saturday's match at AAMI Park.
But Wong's ripping strike in the 37th minute, his first professional goal, means Aurelio Vidmar's charges, currently fourth and a point behind Victory, will finish the weekend inside the top six.

"We have to enjoy it - it's been three weeks since our last decent result," Vidmar said.
"So we'll enjoy it tonight and this week, and we'll knuckle down and get ready.
"There's no need to discuss a game like next week, but we're going to have a normal week leading into it, like we always do.
"Yep, it's a big game. We're one point behind, we're 27 (points) they're 28, so obviously a massive game in the scheme of things. So looking forward to it."
City should regain central defender Kai Trewin (groin), playmaker Andreas Kuen and Benjamin Mazzeo (illness) against Victory.
Samuel Souprayen (buttock) is less likely to return while Steven Ugarkovic was substituted with a hamstring injury in the 61st minute.
Vidmar said the midfielder believed he was cramping.
In scoring Saturday's winner, Wong became City's youngest ALM goalscorer at 17 years, 132 days - and the third-youngest ever in the league.
He was the first player to graduate to a full professional contract with City after starting with the club's school programs, and joined their academy as an 11-year-old in 2019.
"It was a nice goal. He's the youngest player ever at the club to score a goal, so that's good for him," Vidmar said.
"He's just got to keep learning, got to keep working.
"We think he's got a really bright future, but he's right at the infancy of his career."
Early in the first half, Perth striker Patrick Wood required treatment after a cut to the face from a high boot from German Ferreyra, but was able to play on.
Perth coach David Zdrilic admitted he was surprised the incident "didn't get looked at", with no card dished out.

Teammate Lachie Wales forced a fantastic diving save from Patrick Beach in the 16th minute.
City broke through when Marco Tilio, on his first start since November, had a shot blocked and was then dispossessed, only for the ball to fall to Wong to blast an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
Perth (10 points), sit 12th ahead of next Saturday's home clash with Sydney FC.
"The story of the last few weeks, which has been positive, is that we've created a lot of opportunities, but we're not taking the chances," Zdrilic said.
"Goals change games, like their goal, and we had the opportunity to score one or two in the first half as well."
