A teenager has been killed in a horror road crash on a major Scots road in Argyll and Bute.
The 19-year-old was driving a black Renault Clio when it crashed on the A83 between Ardgenavan and Clachan, five miles north-east of Inveraray, at around 9pm on Sunday April 30. Emergency services were called but the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Road policing cops closed the road for around eight hours while they carried out a full investigation, lifting the cordon at around 5am. They have launched an appeal for information in a bid to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
Eyewitnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage of the road around the time of the crash have been encouraged to contact Police Scotland.
The name of the driver has not been released by police.
Sergeant Brian Simpson of Dumbarton Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died in this crash and our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch. I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
